These are now out of date – except that some material from the second edition is not in the third edition. We are currently in negotiations about doing a Part 2 to include this excised material. In the interim there will be material on the website.

The Practitioner Series
For the period 1996--2000 I was Series Editor for the Practitioner Series which was a book series published by Springer-Verlag on behalf of the BCS. For a number of reasons I decided to step down from this role and handed over to Prof Ray Paul (Brunel). I was asked to remain on the Editorial Board and so was associated with this excellent book series until it reached the end of its run.
